About Me
I was born in New Zealand and moved to Australia with my family when I was three. My father has always been a hands on do-it-yourself type of guy as far back as I can remember I have been helping him with whatever has been doing. Through him and my tech teachers at high school I gained a passion for wood and I deiced I wanted to earn a living making furniture. After high school I started a Bachelor of Design Arts in the School of Art at the Australian National University. I am currently completing my final year of that degree.
About My Work
My work has always been about extremely high quality furniture made to suite the clients needs and those of future generations by combining high quality materials and workmanship with functional timeless design. My practice as a designer maker has led me to explore different sources of materials, as a more environmentally friendly solution. By sourcing material directly from land owners and recycled timber merchants can ensure the sustainability of the materials and gain access to some beautiful timbers which commercial operations would find to difficult to harvest. I always suggest to my clients salvaged or reclaimed materials over commercially available stocks for this reason.
